The Power of the Network

Unlike traditional bots that only know what happens in your server, Kaori uses its presence in thousands of communities to create a Global Reputation Score for users. When a malicious actor is caught in one server, the entire network learns.

Reputation Scores

Every user has a trust score based on their history within the Kaori Federation.

Positive Signals

  • Account Age: Older, established accounts are given higher initial trust.
  • Community Rep: Users can give /rep to one another for positive interactions.
  • Verified Status: Accounts with linked socials or successful past verifications.

Negative Signals

  • Known Raiders: Users flagged for participating in automated attacks.
  • Global Bans: Severe infractions that lead to a “Global Ban” will drop reputation to zero.
  • Suspicious Activity: Rapidly joining many servers or engaging in spam patterns.

Protecting Your Server

You can use these scores to automate your security:
  • High-Security Mode: Require a minimum reputation score for users to speak.
  • Auto-Quarantine: Automatically flag users with low trust scores for manual moderator review.
  • Global Ban Sync: Enable this to automatically ban any user who is added to the Kaori Global Ban list (reserved for the most severe offenders).
Reputation is not just about bans. It’s about context. A user with 0 rep in your server might still be trusted because they have 50+ positive reps in other respected communities.
